                                                                                      "All life is yoga."
                                                                                                            ~ Sri Aurobindo

Drew Stallcop CPYI, RYT  - Director

Drew has been practising yoga for over twenty two years and teaching for seven years. He began his study with Aadil Palkhivala and Savitri in 2003.  In 2008 Drew graduated from the College of Purna Yoga Certificate Level - a 2000 hour program where he learned to truly embody Purna Yoga, becoming a holder of its flame.

"I believe yoga is the greatest self-development system in history. Purna Yoga brings that system into the 21st century as a vehicle for evolution."

Purna Yoga London is dedicated to teaching people how to lead happier, more fulfilling lives. Purna Yoga practitioners learn alignment-based asana, pranayama, and Purna Yoga Meditation (the art of aligning inner energies for transformation), along with nutrition and yogic philosophy, adapted for our lifestyles today. Like a tuning fork, Purna Yoga aligns our entire being with the vibration of truth and the Divine essence within us and all around us.

“Purna” means “complete,” and Purna Yoga distills and integrates the vastness of yoga into an invaluable set of tools for transformation and healing. Reminding us that yoga is far more than a system of exercise, Purna Yoga offers wisdom and techniques for the union of the body and the mind with the spirit. Using awareness, precision, and concentration, Purna Yoga inspires the evolution from our lower nature to our Divine Self. Purna Yoga is the art of loving yourself by living from the heart.

When we feel lost, sad, confused, stuck, stiff, or are in pain, our bodies are telling us that
we have lost contact with the most important part of us, our spirit. Therefore, we must
use our breath, actions, thoughts and feelings to welcome our spirit into our first and most
important physical home, our body. Purna Yoga teaches our mind, body, and emotions
how to be at home with our spirit.

The lineage of Purna Yoga is based on the teachings of Sri Aurobindo and The Mother,
the Vedas, Patanjali, B.K.S. Iyengar, and the systems of Ayurvedic, Chinese and Western
nutrition, synthesized by the personal experience of Aadil Palkhivala and Savitri, the founders of Purna Yoga. In a world where trendy, brand-name yogas are constantly being created, Purna Yoga is grounded in ancient wisdom. Purna Yoga, with its roots in the past and its reach into the future, is here to help create the world we have all dreamed of.

Testimonials

Drew is highly knowledgeable in the field of Purna Yoga and deeply caring for his students.  This rare and welcome combination makes him a truly fine teacher.  All great teachers have constantly aspired to learn more.  Drew’s eagerness to be a student and willingness to learn help him stand head and shoulders above the rest.  Drew has my highest recommendation.”

    - Aadil Palkhivala, JD, ND, Yoga Master

Drew Stallcop is a very warm and caring person, who takes an apparent interest in

his students. His way of teaching is very clear and well grounded and a good mixture

of seriousness and joy. He is a teacher I would totally trust to guide me on my path of yoga.”

    - Tove Palmgren, yoga teacher, Helsinki

"Healthy lifestyle? Controlled diet? Dedicated practice? Stick insect contortionist? – NOT I! – I’m from the Jo Brand school as far as physique and inclination to exercise are concerned.  Why, then, has my only regular exercise for the last 3½ years been a usually weekly session of yoga therapy with Drew?  (N.B.  it would be a false claim to suggest my efforts constitute ‘yoga’ proper!)  Well, I feel transformed after a session: mentally mellow, physically stretched and flexible, deeply relaxed, and balanced in every sense – and no other exercise regime has hit anywhere near this spot.

Even my octogenarian mother (a yoga novice) enjoyed a yoga holiday with Drew (encompassing all levels) and is returning for more sessions with him.  There is no limit of age, fitness or injury (alas, I speak from experience) that Drew’s expertise and commitment cannot help.  He is a specialist of the highest order and a more than decent human being (with a nice sense of humour) whom I trust implicitly."
